Marion Stern is an intuitive, self-taught artist who reconnected with art in 2016 and has used this creative outlet as an expression of her own journey of self discovery and healing.
To date she has completed 3 Solo exhibitions at the ARTBANK in Bunclody in Co. Wexford. In May 2019 Introduction to the artist, In February 2020 These are my words and in May 2022 Metalheads. She has been part of 2 group exhibitions at Grennan Mills in Thomastown during the Kilkenny ARTs festival. In August 2022 The secret Garden exhibition and in August 2023 at the Festival exhibition.
Previous to working in Art fulltime, Marion spent over 20 years in the semiconductor industry with roles ranging from quality and production management to engineering. She developed a very logical and methodical work practice which she employs in her art practice as she delves deeper into her own and the collective subconscious.
Marion works with a number of different mediums. She creates 3D artworks using mixed media. She customizes musical instruments for clients and also breathes new life into unwanted and unloved instruments. . She also works with fineliners creating detailed works and illustrations.
Her process is intuitive as she expresses herself through these artistic mediums. She uses music and the natural world to inspire an unburdening and unpacking of emotions and thoughts. She begins each piece with a basic shape, feeling or colour and then allows the piece to evolve as she delves deeper into the chosen theme. Her goal is to shine light onto the topics society wastes so much energy covering up
Additional to that Marion produces a variety of plant-based medicine in the form of teas and tinctures. She has worked with plant medicines for over 5 years and she also offers a range of crafts made from recycled materials - click on the button for more information.
